Dear LOVE Volunteers and Friends,

The LOVE SCRIP Fundraising Program began March 1, 2004.  In the past six years it has generated more than $12,500 in profits for the ministry!  Thank you to all who have used LOVE SCRIP through the years!  You have been such an encouragement to those of us running this on-going fundraising program.  We continue to see new people giving gift card fundraising a try.  Any staff person can give you a quick overview of how SCRIP works.  We try to keep an inventory on-hand for places many of us shop regularly, "cash and carry" seems to work well for many SCRIP users.

Using SCRIP gift cards cost you nothing extra!  You are already spending the money at these businesses, using LOVE SCRIP means LOVE gets a percentage of what you are already spending.  Stop in the office and let us explain how it works!

New On-Hand: Visa Gift Cards  $100, $50 or $25 with 2% profit to LOVE  (The nice thing is these can be used a places that don't participate in SCRIP like Target, Admiral, McDonald's and a zillion other places!)   Always On-Hand: Wal-Mart, Meijer, Wesco, Subway, Wendy's, Applebee's, D&W, Orchard Market, Leppinks, Jumpin' Java, Fat Chix, G&L, Best Buy, Home Depot, Menards, Barnes & Noble and many, many more!  If we don't have what you want on-hand we can order it for you.

Warehouse space needed to house Love INC's furniture and appliance ministries

For the past 9 years, space has graciously been donated to house Love INC's furniture ministry (Sponsored by Spring Lake Christian Reformed Church) and appliance ministries (Sponsored by First Christian Reformed Church). Due to the generous hearts of the Oleszczuk's, Love INC has been able to operate these two ministries from one location and the Oleszcuk's didn't ask for anything in return.  Time is now changing.  As of April 1, 2010, Love INC will be losing this space. We are now looking for warehouse space to operate these two ministries from, either together or independently. Because of the Oleszcuk's, the current donated space has touched the lives of thousands of people throughout the community. Now Love INC is seeing people in record high numbers and our client base is growing each day. We can only imagine how many lives will be touched with the assistance of the next space. If you have warehouse space available or would like more information, please contact Jeanette Laarman at (616) 846-2701 or via e-mail at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Love INC Community Garden

Thanks to all our Garden Volunteers for your help with the Love, INC garden this year. God blessed us with a 50% increase over last year for a total of 1505 lbs. of produce. All the help with the garden expansion and hours of giving made it possible for many in the area to have fresh produce with their food pantry visits. We were told that the watermelon was especially good this year. For a couple weeks, we had more tomatoes than the pantries could handle. The overflow went into the Love, INC General Store where Mary allowed us to set up a "by donation" stand. This provided seed money for next year. Looking forward to another year of green thumbs!
