Budget Counseling MinistryThrough our Loving Connections Budgeting Program, we teach families the sound principles they need to know for successful money management. Our budget mentors work one-on-one with clients, teaching them how to create and stay on a budget. They also act as accountability partners, offering clients encouragement and hope along the way. Transportation Ministry The Transportation Ministry provides clients with rides to and from appointments within the West Michigan area. Our volunteer drivers are able to choose which days and times they want to be available and how far they wish to travel. They are usually given three days notice for any assignment, and upon taking an assignment, they are also provided with all the pertinent information they will need to carry out the task. Furniture MinistryOne evening per week we travel to various homes in our community picking up donated furniture to give away to families in need. We have a truck, but we are in need of some drivers who can go out on these scheduled pick-ups, load the furniture into the truck, bring it back to our storage facility, and unload it there. If you have a willing spirit and are able to do some lifting, we could really use your help. Whether you could help us out weekly, twice monthly, or just once a month, any help would be greatly appreciated! Please call Leah at 846-2701. God’s Guys MinistryAre you handy? Would you like to use your gift to help people in need? Become a God’s Guy volunteer! God’s Guys help people with small-scale household jobs. They may be called on to fix a leaky pipe, repair a fence, deal with a minor electrical problem, help install a screen door, or even paint some trim. The needs vary. When we determine that a client needs some type of household repair, we call the head of this ministry and he assesses the project. If he thinks it’s something God’s Guys could handle, he deploys the God’s Guy volunteers best suited to take care of the particular need. Bubbles and Blessings Laundry Ministry This ministry serves clients who have no laundry facilities and no appliance hook-up available where they live. The Bubbles and Blessings Laundry Ministry provides six washers and six drivers that these clients can use to get their laundry done for free. Those who volunteer for this ministry work a four hour shift on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays. Their mission is to create a welcoming atmosphere and provide friendly fellowship for our clients. Other Love INC Volunteer Opportunities…Receptionist openingsWe are in need of fill-in receptionists who could occasionally volunteer for a 4 ½ hour shift that runs from 8:30 – 12:30 or 1:00 – 5:00 on any given weekday. We also occasionally need a fill-in receptionist for a Thursday evening shift from 5:00 – 8:00 PM and a Saturday morning shift from 8:30 – 12:00. The receptionist is the first person our clients see as they come through our doors. If you have a kind and caring personality, love greeting people, and can answer the telephone in friendly manner, this is just the position for you! Call Leah at 846-2701. Drivers for food pick-ups and deliveriesEvery month we feed over one thousand people through our pantries. That requires a lot of food, and we need help getting all of it to our central pantry storage at Love INC. We are looking for someone willing to drive to Hamilton twice a month to pick up donated food, bring it back to Love INC, and unload it into our central food storage area located on site. We also need a volunteer who would be willing to drive to Grand Rapids once per week to pick up our weekly food order from Second Harvest Gleaner’s. Helpers for Love INC’s Fresh Food Give AwayTwice per month we order 7,500 lbs. of fresh food from Second Harvest Gleaners and distribute it in the parking lot of St. Patrick Catholic Church to people in need within our community. See the “News and Events” tab to the left of the screen for a list of dates. The objective of this ministry is to offer love and hope to people who are struggling to make ends meet.
